Success Means Nothing Without Your Health | Keisha Blair | Part 2
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if everything we were taught about success is incomplete?
In Part 2 of this conversation on Life’s Deceit, Jen continues her discussion with author and founder of the Holistic Wealth Movement, Keisha Blair.
After losing her husband shortly after the birth of their child, Keisha was forced to rethink what truly matters in life. That experience led her to develop the concept of Holistic Wealth—a way of measuring success that goes far beyond money, titles, and external achievements.
In this episode, the conversation explores why chasing success while neglecting your health, purpose, and relationships can leave people feeling empty, even when they appear to have everything.
They also discuss burnout, caregiving, generational pressure, and the importance of making intentional choices about the life and legacy we build.
Because real wealth is not just about what you accumulate.
It’s about the life you create, the people you impact, and the balance you protect along the way.

Welcome back to Life's to Seed. I'm your host Jen Simpson and this is season four, Legacy by Choice, Chosen, Not Inherited. Today's conversation is part two of our conversation with Keisha Blair last week. And we get to go deeper into that conversation. Because the truth is, you cannot build legacy while neglecting yourself. So in this episode, we're breaking down what it really means to be wealthy. Not just financially, not just having a bag of money, but mentally, physically, and spiritually. This is about burnout. This is about purpose. Finding your purpose. What is your purpose? What is your meaning? What is your assignment? This is about choosing yourself without feeling guilty. So let's go into that conversation and dig a little deeper with Keisha. It's almost like we're conditioned not to take care of our health. And we just think the wealth part, the money, we just need to get it. We just need to hustle. We just need to have all of it. But if you have all the money, you don't have your health, then what was it for? Yes. And it's so funny that you're you you explained it so perfectly why it's essential. And I hope that people receive this message because I will be the first to say that my health was not a priority. Everything was above my above my health, above my mental health. I remember I used to wake up every morning for years with migraines. Wow. Like migraines to the point where I had to lay in bed for at least 20 to 30 minutes and take an hour shower before I went to work. So I would wake up early and I would still go to work and still have those pains. And I never pick myself up and go to the doctor and say, you know what? I should get checked out. Something's not right. I made all the excuses why I couldn't go to work. I have deadlines. I have to show up. My boss is gonna be mad if I take a sick day until COVID hit. I said, This is this is not normal. You know what? I'm putting myself first. And that's when I found out I had vertigo. When I started, and I was like, okay, vertigo, where did I get vertigo from? How am I going to manage this?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01They told me what to do, and everything changed. I no longer have migraines. I'm no longer nauseous. I'm no longer groggy when I wake up in the morning.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01When I started taking care of me, questions were asked. Is there something going on at home? No, because you're used to the old version of me. I'm no longer that person anymore.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01We, and I feel like even as black people, we do that a lot too. My mom will run up and down, work three jobs, slaving herself to save. But for who? And how are you going to enjoy it if you are running yourself to the ground?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I inherited that from her and had to break that cycle. Yes. Because we inherit things from our family, from our parents. Absolutely. That's a big one.
SPEAKER_02Big, big one in our community, in our culture, especially if for black women we're taught to care for everybody else first.
SPEAKER_01And I feel like a lot of people need to understand what you said that it is essential. It's not something that you just, okay, I'll just do it. No, it's essential. It's for your life.
SPEAKER_02It's for your life. It's for your life. I remember after my husband died, Jen, and I had two young babies. One was eight weeks old, one was three years old. And I said, I have to live for them. I have to figure out a way to live for them. They have no father now. I'm the only parent. Three and eight weeks old. And if I did not take that time and figure out how to heal, what I needed to do for myself, I don't think I would be here in this form. I don't think I would be here saying. I don't think I would be here with this message. I don't think I would have been able to execute any of this to help others. So this is why it's absolutely essential. So we can execute that purpose to do the bigger work that we need to do out there. That's the work we're here for, and that's the that's what we're that's what we're you know defending with this. It's that purpose, it's that reason, and it is essential because a lot of people would burn themselves so burn themselves out so much that they would not be able to do this work. Some of them die. You just hear, oh, you know, that guy at work, he just had a heart attack. That one had a stroke, that one had an aneurysm. That's all you're hearing about now. They die.
SPEAKER_01They die.
SPEAKER_02They literally die. My husband died. Yep. This is real and this is essential. So this isn't just like, oh, yeah, here, fury, good stuff, holistic wealth. Yeah, this is life and death. Life and death, and this is generational legacy work in terms of being here to help walk and guide the next generation through. Because if we're not here, we can't do it.
SPEAKER_01So if we're not here, we can't do it. We can't, we can't essential. And it's you you highlighted a word that is this season's theme: legacy by choice. The idea that breaking cycles is just the beginning, but building a new legacy is the real work, a legacy that not just our children, but the next generation can use in their life. You mentioned three key areas you wanted to explore overcoming setbacks, creating purpose, and Holocaust wealth. What did you have to unlearn or overcome to step into your purpose?
SPEAKER_02Oh, lots. Most of it mindset, which is why I talk about whole the holistic wealth mindset in the book so much. Because most of it is mindset work. Some of the things we've already explored, like not listening to the naysayers, not getting bogged down in what we think people want from us or identity tied to anything, you know, but really overcoming that mindset, and that's what the holistic wealth mindset is about, and all of that's explained in the book. But the barriers, apart from mindset, you know, of course, other huge barriers. When I just came out with this message, this was before COVID, so nobody knew what this meant. Everybody was like, what is she talking about? You know, like it's almost like coining a concept and getting buy-in. And I had to, and of course, you had those diehard finance people who couldn't see the rest of the mental health part, the spiritual part, the nourishing, physical health part. They're just like, well, you know, how do you mix the two? So I think COVID was what opened everybody's eyes when everybody was like, oh, there's people dropping down from some disease we've never heard of. So we have to have a sustainable lifestyle. So some of that helped, but the barriers were just, you know, like coining this new phrase, and everybody's like, what's that? And how do you define it? And how did you and what's your background? And you know, I had people reach out to me and be like, Well, you know, I thought of it first. So we didn't come up with it, and of course, I had other people copy the work and didn't give me the credit. You know how it goes to when you're a female, a black woman, there's lots to overcome, right? There's a lot to overcome. We have it in the workplace, we have it in business, we have it with our books, we have it with our, you know, with our creativity. It's just the whole thing of like, yeah, you know, then you have to build the platform and get the message out and try to have those people around you. And we're going, we're going back to the beginning, those Susans in our lives that will back us and be like, you know, I'm coming alongside you and I'm going to walk this journey with you. Not that, not because I have anything to gain, but because I so believe in this message. And I had those people when the book was released, who were just like, you know what, you just tell me what, and I'm ready. Those people took courses, they did everything, they posted on the social media. They were like foot soldiers, those women. As a matter of fact, before I started the Institute on Holistic Wealth, one of them came forward and she's like, I read your book. She was a financial advisor, and she's like, I'll pay you to write a certification program. I don't care if you have a word written, here's the money, write it. And I was just like, I don't have a certification program, I can't just write it. And she was like, Yeah, you can, you can. And I did. And that was the first holistic wealth coaching program that ever existed in the world. And I wrote that during COVID, and she's like, Well, let's let's put it out there now, and we did, and you know, people just started signing up. So, despite the barriers, God put people there, even if it was for a season to get over a certain hurdle or to get some part of the mission accomplished. Yes, and that's what happened, and it was not easy, and a lot of it was just trial by error and you know, having genuine people who weren't even a part, a lot of them didn't even know my life before. These were people who most of them just read the book and just reached out and were just like, listen, we're ready. We're ready to change the world with you because we see something that you have that's of value, and women need to know this, and men need to know this, and our children, and our children's children, so that they can live better lives, healthier lives, and that's what happened. So the the barriers, I mean, it's taken 16, 17 years to get to this point, so you can't imagine.
SPEAKER_01You you you put in a lot of work and dedication, and you know, Keisha, you said something, and it's a lot of people attach it when they hear holistic wealth, they're like, What's that? Money, like, and you're right, they attach it just to money. And I was just speaking to my partner earlier about something similar to this. How when you really listen to God's voice, He will align you with the right people.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01That is a part of wealth in life, yeah. Because a lot of times, like you said, we want to hold on to things, not just material things, but things, people, old dresses we have in our closets that we know we should just throw out and let go, old furniture, let it go. Environments. When God says pick up and move here, we're like, oh my gosh, I can't move there. Why would I move to that country? Why would I go to that to that area to live in? And people, and we're just talking about it. How even if a person doesn't say, I'm jealous of you, or I don't wish you well, their energy, the thoughts in their mind, how it can affect our lives. But when we trust God with everything, you will see why he said to trust you, because he's telling you, if God is taking away something from you and telling you to let it go, he will never leave you without. He's going to replace it with something greater. Absolutely. And that means people as well. Oh, yes. You know, when God said to start this podcast, I was like, start what podcast? Are you crazy? I'm not talking in front of a whole bunch of people. So I hid behind the mic for years, Keisha. Like, I would hide behind the mic, no cameras, nothing. And I was stripping myself away, and he's like, Okay, I let you do the mic thing, do the camera now. And I'm like, no. I'm like, no, I did the mic thing already. Yeah. And I'll tell you, starting this podcast has been the greatest blessing in my life. Wow. Even if I didn't have like friendships that are permanent, I learned something, I gained something. You women and men that I've come into contact with and connected with have sharpened me. You guys have pushed me to really see myself. And I I said I said to Shane today, I said, you know, I never seen myself as this person. Like I never seen much of myself. Like, you know, I'm I'm just I'm just here. Like I'm not boastful, but I also think that I'm great, but I'm also like when I'm around people, I downplay who I am. And then I wondered, why do I do that? Why do I shrink myself to fit in with people who God told me to let go of? Yeah. Then I realized you have given me a platform with people who think so highly of me. You have given me a platform with people who are showing me exactly the way that God sees me. And it's time for me to step into that. Wealth is not just money, wealth is people, wealth is our connections, wealth is how we live our life, wealth is our purpose, wealth is our legacy and the intentions that we have behind building the legacy. We can leave money, we can leave money to our kids, we can leave money to our family. And guess what? Our kids could just blow it. Oh, yeah. And then what? What did we really leave them behind? Holocaust wealth. It is required, it is needed, it is essential. It should be a part of every single one of our lives. Because I had no idea what Holocaust wealth was until we actually look deep inside and see, hey, there's some work that needs to be done so we can live a life so full and freeing and not exhausting. Yeah. I want to ask you for anyone that's listening, how do they know they are wealthy even if they don't feel success yet? How would they know that they are wealthy, not not just financially?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so normally I talk about, you know, when I talk about holistic wealth, I and I say this on the podcast all the time. I say, you know, have a holistically wealthy week. Have a holistically wealthy month, whatever it is. But that's how you know, because when we look at it through the lens of holistic wealth, and then we say, okay, well, what makes me wealthy? The question should be, what makes me holistically wealthy? Because when we talk about being holistically wealthy, then it's not just wealth in the traditional sense of my net worth or my income or my assets, but it's I'm holistically wealthy because I have these strong relationships. I'm living my purpose, I'm spiritually evolved, and I engage in spiritual renewal, I have that meaning, that balance. I'm nourishing my body, I'm nourishing my mind, and I'm leaving that legacy. I am holistically wealthy. So it's not just I'm wealthy in the sense of what people would classify as just wealth, even though that's a part of it, because I want people to be able to be financially secure, I want people to be financially resilient, because that's the only way that this is sustainable. You know, I made a YouTube video the other day that, you know, a lot of people focus on holistic living or that holistic lifestyle, but none of that, you can't yoga your way out of debt. You know, you yoga your way out of your mortgage payments. You have to have the financial piece in place. And like I really have to emphasize that. But what I'm saying is our identities are not tied to our net worth, and our identities are not tied to like some figure that we put out there to say, I'm a millionaire, so that's it. No, that holistic wealth piece says that it's not just the money, it's also these pieces, and that's why I don't subscribe to this whole everyone wants to be a millionaire thing, let's all be just millionaires. Being a millionaire is fine. It's fine. There's nothing inherently wrong about being a millionaire, there's nothing wrong. People want to be millionaires, but the goal should be holistic wealth, it should be those relationships that strengthen you, that sustain you during tough times, that enrich you, not deplete you, and every other aspect of holistic wealth, in addition to that. So, so it's this, how do I know I'm holistically wealthy? Is when I have that, those pieces in play. So it's not just how do I know I'm wealthy? Am I wealthy? It's am I holistically wealthy? That's the bigger question. That's the question that makes you know you're in alignment with biblical principles as well. That's when you know you're tuning in, you're listening to God's voice for your life, for your purpose, meaning. Because when we just focus on the wealth piece, the traditional wealth piece, we're tuning out all of that. And we're saying that makes no sense, that has no use to me. And that's why sometimes, you know, I listen to some of these financial pundits, and I'm like, yeah, no, that can't be it. We're leading people down the wrong road. There has to be that biblical part of it that says that your purpose, why you're here, you know, humanity and all of that is is a huge piece of this. And that's the question: how do I know I'm holistically wealthy? And those pieces are in place, and you know, you know, based on what I've just said, those pieces are in place, and you're just like, yeah, that's how I know. Because those pieces are in place, that's how I know I'm holistically wealthy.
SPEAKER_01I love that. And I'm holistically wealthy, but I'm still working on it.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, and we all said that you know, I I remember putting out a podcast episode recently, not recently, maybe in the beginning of the year, you know, with looking at the different gaps. And some of us have gaps in our spiritual lives, or sometimes it's the money piece, or sometimes it's the relationships around us. But we can always work on strengthening those pillars of holistic wealth. And there's always work to do because we're always learning, we're always growing. But that doesn't mean, you know, that at some point, because I know people like to move the yardstick. Oh, I haven't reached it yet, because I haven't done that, I haven't done this. But you know, like once we get to like a baseline point where we can say, you know what, like I'm I'm content. That contentment with these different pillars, and that we know we're putting in the work in the different pillars, then we can know that we're on track what we need to do to get there to strengthen those pillars that we're weakened because that's basically how all of this will be sustained. Term strengthening pillars, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You speak about massive shift happening, especially around caregiving and generational pressure. Why is this moment in history so critical?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like it's unbelievable, right? When my dad died, and I was his main caregiver, and I dropped everything in my life, and it really brought home to me why this is so critical. That there's so many people falling through the cracks, not having a voice. And this is something that I mean, 70% of caregivers are women. This is something that's been happening for generations, for decades, and women have been falling through the cracks and have been living with the consequences, suffering through burnout, illness, chronic illnesses, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol. The list goes on, autoimmune illnesses that are just coming to the fore now, and people are just realizing that all of those are stress-related. And people have been dying because we haven't been really talking about what we need to talk about. And this time is as critical as any other time in history. We're facing an economy that is just in constant upheaval. Even as an economist, I'm just like, wow. Like to me, it beats anything I've seen in recent history. We look at what's going on politically, we look at what's going on geographically, geopolitically. And we have societies and economies that are in constant, dire straits, barely hanging on by a thread. And that's what we've been doing, barely hanging on by a thread. And this is why we're at this moment, and we've been at this moment now for for a couple years, for for years, where we actually need to really redirect and really emphasize these principles. So I think this time is as good as any a time because there's so many things going on. There's so many things happening, Jen.
SPEAKER_01There, you are right about that. And you said when your father was sick, you dropped everything. And I see my friend going through it. Dropped everything. Her mom's sick, she's in the hospital, dropped everything. She will wake up at 4 a.m. and get to the hospital by 6. She'll sleep overnight. Her life has been like that for the last. Oh my gosh, I'd say two months.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01She dropped everything just to make sure that her mom's okay and she's in good care because nurses, doctors, they're burnt out to the point where they're misdiagnosing and they no longer care. Right. Yeah. And we we could say they're selfish. We could say all these things about them, but they're burnt out.
SPEAKER_02These are the going people who came through COVID and held up our healthcare system. There you go. Frankly, these are the same human beings that walk that journey. They have zero left to give. Zero left to give. They have zero, Jen. I walk this room with my dad, and I'm telling you, they have zero. There's zero left in the tank. It's the same people. And so if you're not there in that hospital room when your loved one is cold, shivering, and needs a warm blanket, and there's nobody to get that. They're developing pneumonia in the hospital. They're developing all sorts of things. They need help with feeding themselves. Sometimes they can't feed themselves. I saw my dad with a feeding tube. Like it's unbelievable. Sometimes he needed to be cleaned up. There's nobody there.
unknownNobody there.
SPEAKER_02He's vomiting on himself. There's nobody there. We were there cleaning up, cleaning up, doing all of that. That's the reality. And that's why I'm saying this time is critical. It's like critical. Because you're absolutely right. Those doctors are still burnt out. They walked through COVID. They held us all up. And we expect the same doctors to have more in the tank. And they don't have any more to give. And they don't have any more to give.
SPEAKER_01They're just more to give. That's it. And and you know it's funny, my dad had cancer too, and oh my gosh. I I almost snapped at one of the nurses, and I held myself back, and I'm like, you are burnt out. You're tired. You are right when you say it's critical. And thinking about it makes one of it brings me to tears because you see people in the hospital just need care and love and they're being neglected because people are going through real life situations. Yeah. They managed to survive through COVID with so much on their backs. They didn't even really get a break. No. No. They didn't get a break. No. I look at my mom and I'm like, why do you look like that? You look so run down. It brings me to my knees because it's not how you used to look. She works in the healthcare system, and I'm like, almost like she said she wants to go away for Mother's Day. And I'm like, I don't know how we're gonna do it, but yeah, you do need to go away for a couple of weeks.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Take on so much. And we forget because everyone was going through something during COVID. And selfishly, we never really thought about them and what they were going through. Yes, we said, you know, thank you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01How far did thank you go?
SPEAKER_02I know.
SPEAKER_01Because they were back to the same thing.
SPEAKER_02I know. Absolutely. And so when my dad died, I didn't release a podcast episode for about four to five months. Um it was just too much. And then the first episode that I released was that was this mission of reaching one billion people with holistic wealth. Because everyone this is essential. And I thought to myself, I'm going to make it my life's mission. Because after going through a husband and now a father's death, both of them died in April. And that's why we've extended this to Global Holistic Wealth Month. Because one died on April 9th, Global Holistic Wealth Day, one died on April 26th. So I said, well, let's just extend it and talk about this more. Give more air time and give people more of a time to get acclimatized, to integrate these concepts in their lives and to hear it more and more and more. Because one day is not enough. Yeah. And this is why it's so critical. Because when you said your friend dropped, you know, she's dropped her life. I dropped my life too. Like I I lost about 40 pounds. I assumed every symptom he had, the nausea, everything. And I couldn't imagine other people, caregivers, who didn't have the support I had. Because I had a I have a supportive husband, supportive mother, supportive kids. And I thought, oh my gosh, we have an epidemic and we have a global crisis on the horizon. If we don't start educating and talking about this, getting this into organizations, getting into this, into this, into communities. Like we have to absolutely do it. Raise awareness so that we support each other more, so that organizations support employees who have deathly ill family members that they need to care for. Give them the support, give them the time to take care of themselves and everything. Like it's it's it's a wide, it you know, it affects everything, and everyone needs to be aware. And so that mission of reaching 1 billion has been huge in terms of not only motivating and inspiring me to get up every day and do something, but also in getting people on the mission and helping out and supporting.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But his death, you know, really woke me up because I had to get up every morning like your friend, drop the kids to school, and it would be off to the hospital as soon as they were in school. That would be my day. And I saw it, and I see what you're I saw what you saw, what you see in your mother, in our healthcare workers. And when you have a loved one who's sick and depending on them, it really brings home everything, right? Like his life is hanging in the balance, he's not getting the care he deserves. So you have to overcompensate by doing more, by being there to make sure he has this, he has that. So yeah, so this is why it's essential, absolutely essential.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm I'm on board with you. Anything that I can do, I am here and I am on that mission with you. One billion.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Because I see it. And it's hard, it's painful to see.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And feel like your hands are tied, but our hands aren't tied. We can do something about it. What is one shift they can make today to begin living in Holocaust wealth? Anyone who's listening, what is one thing that they can do?
SPEAKER_02To live in holistic wealth. Uh, so you know, like there's so many ways you can start. And it doesn't have to be big. You know, I mean, whether it's exercising and getting your health on track, back on track, if you've been neglecting your health, we've been talking a lot about the health piece, Jen.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02So, which is fine. Absolutely. Whether it's, you know, exercising, eating right, I talk about the holistic wealth method because we make 50,000 decisions each and every day. All of us do it. From the moment we get up to to the moment we go to sleep, we're making 50,000 decisions. So when you start on this journey, just channel the holistic wealth method and start to think: okay, is this decision a depletion or an addition to my holistic wealth? Whatever decision it is, if you're eating breakfast and you're figuring out what you need to eat to start your day, is it going to deplete me or is it going to enrich me? Choose something healthy. And when you start that way and you start reframing your decisions using the holistic wealth method and thinking, is this going to enrich me or deplete me? Whether it's friendships, whether it's, you know, connections, whether it's your bank account and your spending, is it going to get me into debt? Or is it going to make me more financially resilient? So think of all the different decisions you make and just start, just start. Just start channeling that holistic wealth method. And that's a really good way to start because it spans all the pillars of holistic wealth. And every single day that we get up, we're basically going through the motions of the different pillars. So whether it's our health, our mental health, relationships. You spoke about your spouse, your partner, Jen, and the support. How do you enrich that? How do you enrich your relationship? How do you enrich your financial, your financial life? How do you enrich your kids? And so channeling that holistic wealth method and applying it in your daily life consciously, because holistic wealth is intentional by design.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_02It's intentional by design. So we have to get intentional about it. And that's a great way to start. So if anybody's listening in and you're thinking, how do I get started? That's how you get started.
SPEAKER_01And I I love that we focused on the health part. Because I truly believe that that's one of the biggest parts of it. Because your health affects everything. Absolutely. How you think, how you feel, how you move, how you operate, how you treat people, how you treat yourself. If your health is good and you're on the right track, things change. Yes. The way you move, the way you operate, the way that you're active, not just present, but you're actively present. It changes. And like I said in the beginning, I went on that 21-day Daniel fast. And that was the best thing that I did. Fruits and vegetables. I felt so much better. Lighter. I felt good. Like for the first couple of days, I was like, okay, good. Then I hit a bump and I was like, what am I gonna eat? And then I started doing the homework and figuring out what I can eat. And I'm eating it because I care about myself. Not just physically looking good, but internally.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01And why do I care about myself? Because I want to live a long, healthy life and be able to enjoy it. And not wake up with the headaches, not wake up with the chest pains, or wondering why am I feeling so weak and lazy and I have no energy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And not just doing it for myself, but also my kids. Because if you're eating healthy, is your home actually doing it as well? It's not just about yourself. I I agree with that first step that you just said. Yes. And thank you for that. Absolutely. I have a small little segment, and it's a game, and it's called Rapid Fire. Okay. I'm gonna throw out probably some words and some phrases at you, and I don't want you to overthink. I want you to just shoot out the first thing that comes to your mind. Okay. You ready? Yes. Legacy is?
SPEAKER_02Legacy is building. It's building. It's building that life that can be passed down. It's building. Wealth is? Wealth is holistic. It's more than just the money, it's everything we discussed on this episode. Healing is healing is nurturing. It's nurturing all of those pillars because holistic wealth is a healing philosophy. So purpose is purpose is your life. Purpose is the reason for you being here. It's your life.
unknownI like that.
SPEAKER_01Healing is your life. I love that. The version of you that you had to let go of was very achievement oriented, very um, you know, thriving to just, you know, be what society deemed as successful.
SPEAKER_02And the version of you that you fought to become was the person who was more concerned about enriching humanity, not necessarily driven by selfish goals, but driven by humanity and serving humanity.
SPEAKER_01The truth most people avoid is self-awareness.
SPEAKER_02I think most people just live in denial because it's easy. It's just easy to just ignore what's obvious. Because you just get to stay in that comfort zone and never leave it.
SPEAKER_01The lie people believe about having it all.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And that that is that is true, right? That is a lie. Because it's it's um you have to give up, you have to sacrifice.
SPEAKER_01You have to sacrifice. And the final question: when your name is no longer in the room, what do you want your life to have said? Oh wow.
SPEAKER_02Again, you know, just going back to enriching other people's lives, to caring deeply about humanity and where we end up and the type of world that we leave for the next generation, for our grandkids, for our great-grandkids, for our kids.
SPEAKER_01And the legacy that you're building, what is it and what do you hope that you will represent?
SPEAKER_02So that legacy of holistic wealth that allows people to bounce back, that allows people to overcome tragedy and and triumph over it, that is what sustains humanity. So I think that is bigger than anything else that I can think of. And and that's it.
SPEAKER_01That is what legacy by choice is. When I was starting this season, I was like, okay, last season was breaking generational cycles is a lifestyle. But after we break the cycles, what's next? What are we doing? What are we trying to create? What are the choices that we're making? Because breaking generational cycles is something that we we make a decision to do, yes, because we don't agree with certain things, but then the legacy that we're trying to build, that's our choice. That I didn't want to be just known for breaking a cycle.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01I wanted to be known for building and creating something that the next generation will be able to use. And you did that, and you continue to do that every day. That legacy that you are building, you have had the amazing opportunity to actually enjoy it. Many people don't. When you think about legacy, most people passed away before they even got to enjoy their legacy. Legacy by choice is choosing to enjoy that legacy that we're building, even while you're building it from the ground up. And that's what you're doing. You made a choice not to just roll over and sleep your life away.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You made a choice not to feel sorry for yourself, but to allow yourself to grieve, allow yourself to turn off the noise, listen to God's voice and shed. And live in your purpose. And you're doing an amazing job. Thank you. And more importantly, I really want to thank you for accepting your calling because if you didn't, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet you.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01We wouldn't have holistic wealth. So I do want to thank you for that. Thank you for being the woman that God called you to be and continuing to allow yourself to grow. Because that is important to me and how I raise my children. Because I can look back and say, guys, listen, Keisha, Keisha was that source for me. And you poured into me. Yeah. So I want to thank you.
SPEAKER_02You're welcome. And I'm I'm so glad that I got to come on and to, you know, spread this message here on your podcast and to pour into you, your audience. Um, you know, because as I'm listening to you, I'm thinking, I'm so glad that I accepted the calling on my life. It seemed so difficult at first to accept. There were times where I could not accept, but I did, because I had to. Um, and I had to do this. So I'm so glad that I had the support and that I continue to meet people who support the mission and inspire me and encourage me. So that encouragement means the world, because that's how it keeps going. So that's why we need to keep going. Exactly. That's how it keeps going. So I absolutely thank you for having me on the podcast and inviting me and telling me your story.
SPEAKER_01No, thank you for saying yes. I, you know, we talk about podcasts and what's the what are people gonna receive. But for years to come, your voice will ricochet. We're not building podcasts just for the hype and the clout. Right. For people that really need to understand that their life is way too valuable to not have holistic wealth in it.
SPEAKER_00Right. Exactly. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01For a listener who's listening today and feels empty, they don't know where to turn, they don't know if they're doing things right, they may not, they may not even know God or have a steady relationship or a relationship at all. What is one word or a message that you can leave with them that they will remember every time they feel like I'm not worthy, I can't do this. I might as well just give up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's a part in the book in holistic wealth, and I don't remember how many billions or millions, trillions of atoms that we're all made of. And I state in the book that each one of us, even with those trillions of atoms, are uniquely made. Can you imagine that God in his infinite infinite wisdom made us all unique, even with those trillions of atoms? And because he's made us so unique, he knows us by name, and we have a unique purpose and calling. Unique. They might be similar, but they're as unique as we are, and we're made up of trillions of different unique atoms. So if you're listening in and you're thinking, I can't do this, I'm not called for this, I'm not made for this. Well, you are because you were purposed from before birth to do this assignment, whatever your assignment and calling is. And he's prepared you. And I know what that feels like. I'll I'll tell you the truth. Like I remember going around with the prime minister writing his speeches, his speaking notes, and I was just like, seriously, they're making me do this, they're making me fly alone and and doing this. Like they must be out of their minds, number one, and number two, they're crazy, they're just crazy. But I did it because I was called to it, I was prepared for it, and it's the same way that you are called to it, and he knows you by name, and he's prepared you, and you're prepared by the best. So, I mean, really, there's no way you can say you're not because you are so that's that's what in it it in a nutshell. I'd love them to go find that area in that book and read it because honestly, it is really just mind-blowing when you think about it.
SPEAKER_01You are prepared by the best. I love that. And for any of the listeners who want to reach out to you, they want to connect with you, or they would love to get a copy of your book, how can they contact you and where can they get your book from? I mean, I need my personalized signed copy from you. But if they want to get a book that's signed by you and it's not on other platforms, how can they reach out to you to do that?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, absolutely. So Keisha Blair.com has an area, you know, the book area where you can get a signed copy. You can purchase signed copies, they're signed by me, and we mail those out to people who order from. That's the only place where you can get signed copies for purchase. It's through my website. If you don't want to wait, because that will take a little bit longer, it'll take a week or two longer. Let's say you want to get your hands on it right now. There's Amazon, there's all those different bookstores online, everywhere carries them, and even the bookstores in your local cities, most of them do stock them. Um, so you can find them most places. And of course, yeah, if you're listening in from another country, like we had the German edition launch last year, there in Europe, the book is everywhere. Um, and of course, like I do have a podcast, the Holistic Wealth Podcast. You can tune in there if you want to hear more about a particular topic or more about a particular theme that's there. And of course, the Institute on Holistic Wealth is also there with resources and courses if you want to dive even deeper into like certification programs and becoming a certified holistic wealth consultant and being able to train others and coach others, then that's also there. And of course, it's Global Holistic Wealth Month, so do get involved. You know, if you want to become an ambassador for Global Holistic Wealth Day, that's there are opportunities to just help with this mission and support in any way. Like, there's so many ways people can get involved, and we would love that. Um, because we're on that mission to reach one billion. So please join us.
SPEAKER_01We we are on that mission with you.
SPEAKER_02Thank you, Keisha.
SPEAKER_01It has been an absolute pleasure, an honor. You filled my whole entire soul tonight, and I thank you so much for who you are and who you continue to be and continue to grow into.
SPEAKER_02Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Thank you so much for tuning in with us today. Um, listeners, please reach out to Keisha. Get a copy of her book. Join us in the one billion. We are all a part of this mission and we can't do it alone. As much as we want to say, Oh, I can do it by myself, that's not possible. When we join forces, we make a bigger impact. So please join. Get involved. You heard her say you can be an ambassador, and that sounds exciting. If you have not subscribed yet, please hit the subscribe button, give us a like, leave a comment, and if you want to be a guest on the podcast, you can reach out to me on the social media platforms that are listed below in the description. Keisha, I cannot wait to see what else you are going to do. I'm excited. I myself want to become an ambassador now that you said it, so we can talk about that soon. Absolutely. Thank you so much for tuning into Life's Deceit. I'm your host, Jen Simpson. Until next time. What you choose today becomes the legacy you pass on.
